A.C.E. Electives
Although there are "electives" within many of the core subjects (for example World History or World Geography; Biology or Physical Science), A.C.E. also have a range of subjects from non-core learning areas such as music, the arts, and languages.
The samples shown do not cover all elective choices. Electives are shown in the SCEE Product Catalogue.

American History
American History 1121-1132: - American history begins with the discovery of America and the colonisation by various nations. The history goes through early American exploration of the frontiers and settlement of new territories. The Cold war, space exploration, civil rights, and operation Desert Storm are all discussed towards the end of the course.
American Civics 1133-1139: - This course is intended to furnish students with an understanding of government such that they see their own responsibility and understand how to participate in the process of government. They study the historical foundations of the US government. The course comprises of 6 units.
Art
Choose Art Levels 1-5 (Primary): - A Biblical Art Series resources on CDs. CHOOSE ART was developed by a supervisor experienced in the A.C.E. resources. Choose Art explores the elements of line, shape, colour, texture, form, space and pattern. Choose Art is designed for use one hour per week.
Level 1 - Make me a rainbow; Level 2 - Flowers and Bulrushes; Level 3 - Peaceful Pastels; Level 4 - Butterfly Wings; Level 5 - Eagles Soar.
Basic Beginning Art 73-84 (Grade 7/8) (Lower Secondary Level): - Twelve PACEs that look at techniques using a variety of media. Includes shadow, lighting and shading, colour, shapes and angles.
Basic Advanced Art 97-108 (Credit level subject - Grade 9 and above) (Upper Secondary Level): - Looks deeper at the elements introduced in Beginning Art. Includes perspective and is excellent for students wanting to consider technical drawing or architecture. Beginning Art is not required as a prerequisite, but students can get a lot starting at 97. Accelerate Christian Home Schooling provides a marking rubric and ideas for assessment.
Auto Mechanics
Auto Mechanics 109-114: - Understanding the Automobile is designed primarily for use in classroom and shop situations. It is a study of the function and relationship of the nine systems that work together to make the automobile work efficiently and smoothly. It is recommended that students have access to automotive systems and parts for demonstrations. It is a useful but dated course which SCEE has been printing since 2017.

Business
General Business 97-108 (Credit level subject): - A study introducing upper-level secondary students to the world of business includes markets, consumer studies, advertising, corporations and industries, careers in business, production, labour, federal control (US), international business, banking and finance. Students should note that this is an old course and based on American laws and taxes. It could not be considered current Australian information.
Accounting 121-132 (Credit level subject): - This resource acquaints students with the nature, scope, vocabulary, and techniques of accounting. Intended to provide a firm foundation upon which to build, the resource includes introduction to assets, liabilities and capital, journalizing, ledger analysis, account management, balance sheet and income statement completion, accounting for sales and purchases, inventory control, tax preparation, and partnership and corporate accounting.
Communication
Speech 1-6 (Credit level subject): - This course covers the basics of effective speaking with such fundamentals as: stage performance, diaphragmatic breathing, articulation, effective gestures and inflection. The student will study and practice vocal purity, variety in pitch, pronunciation and best choice of vocabulary. Included is training in facial expressions, correct posture and eye contact. Creative Communication Skills 1-6 (Credit level subject): - This course engages the student in the art of storytelling. It is a speech class that offers practical and everyday
benefits. Students learn to prepare and perform storytelling that is engaging and powerful. This course will help prepare students for ministry, and public speaking in general. This course requires an additional resource book, The Art of Storytelling. The focus of this course is on Sunday School style storytelling.
Bible Telling 1-12 (Credit level subject): - Bible Telling goes through the New Testament Scriptures teaching students how to tell the Scripture in story form. Students learn how to use and draw a storyboard and look at history and customs relevant to the story they are learning. Two DVDs demonstrating storytelling are available for PACEs 1-6.
Computer Studies
Keyboard Skills (Credit level subject): - This mandatory Year 10 Certificate course, requires the student to learn to touch type, using any typing tutor. To fulfil this course, we require a certificate stating that the child has a speed of 35 words per minute at 98% accuracy for a period of at least 3 minutes. Most students learn, using Typing.com and complete the 3-minute typing test which provides a certificate with all that we need (student's name, duration of the test, typing speed and accuracy).
Computer Studies 1: 1-6 (Credit level subject): - This is a Senior Secondary elective worth two AR credits and comprising of six PACEs. This course extends the students computer knowledge and skills with a blend of theory and online practical tutorials and courses. The course covers a brief history of computers.
Computer Studies 2: 1-6 Yet to be released (Credit level subject): - NOTE: To complete the Computer Studies courses, students will require access to a computer (not a smartphone or a tablet) with a monitor and printer. Online access is required for some units.
Languages
French 97-108 (Credit level subject): - This is an introductory course which covers the history and use of French in the world. Grammar, parts of speech, punctuation, French conversation, writing and reading French. Special emphasis on developing good reading skills. One video is required for each PACE which can be viewed on the SCEE Resource Library.
Spanish 1-12 (Credit level subject): - Students learn about Spanish vowels, consonants and punctuation. Students learn general language words such as days of the week, parts of the human body and animals' names. Students finish the course with a grammar review and learning about Latin American culture. One video is required for each PACE which can be viewed on the SCEE Resource Library.
Rosetta Stone (Credit level subject): - An external online language course. 30 languages to choose from. Languages are covered over several levels. Each level is worth one or two credits for secondary Elective subjects. One year's license should be purchased for each child. If required levels are not completed in this time, another license must be purchased.
Music
Music 1-6 (Credit level subject): - This is a short course of music appreciation, which has both theoretical and practical components. Covers some music theory, music appreciation, instruments, and introduces some classical and sacred music composers. Two CDs are required.
