One of the benefits of A.C.E. resource, it that usually all the education is contained within the PACE.  However, in order to utilise the PACE effectively for your students, it is important to follow the integrated procedures.  One of these procedures is ensuring the security of the PACE Test and the Test Key.  These are usually found within the PACE and the Score Key.

To issue a new PACE the following procedure should be implemented:

  1. Use your Supervisor’s Progress Card to identify the next PACE in sequence. Then complete the procedure for marking the previous PACE off and adding the new PACE to Supervisor’s Progress Card as explained in the Parent Training Manual as well as the Stock Management and Issuing a New PACE videos from the Parent Training page in our website.
  2. Please remove the PACE Test from the centre of the PACE and store in a safe place – the child should not have access to the Test until they have completed the PACE.
  3. Some of the higher level subjects have Activity Pac’s in the centre of the reading PACE. The reading PACE may be used again for subsequent children, so, only the Activity Pac is required to purchase.
  4. Have the corresponding Score Key available, but away from the child’s workspace. If issuing a new Score Key, ensure that the Test Key is removed and stored in a safe place.
  5. Provide your student with the new PACE, a star for the star chart and their previous PACE Test, if they have passed.

To issue the PACE Test:

  1. Ideally the PACE Test should be completed under “exam” conditions. Preferably, at a time with limited distractions.
  2. The student should only have access to a couple of pencils, an eraser, a ruler, and blank paper (for additional working out or notes).
  3. The child is given the PACE Test and completes it in one sitting. (If your schedule doesn’t allow time for the student to complete the PACE Test, then it may be beneficial to delay it to a more suitable time).
  4. The Parent should score the PACE Tests as soon as possible after completion. It prevents the child from feeling frustrated while waiting for feedback on how they performed.

The parent should use a green pen (very important if sending in PACE Test for moderation).  Only mark an x on the questions that are incorrect (there is no need to tick correct answers).  If the parent decides to provide part marks, please indicate where the part marks have been deducted from.

  5. Inform the student of their results and begin the process again.
